Raised in the mystic traditions of ancient India, the Mayapuris fuse the soul stirring experience of mantra music with exceptional musicianship in both eastern and western styles. They have toured across six continents propelled by their thunderous rhythm and soaring vocals. The Mayapuris are a sonic force in the world of conscious music. The Mayapuris debut album “Mridanga” reached the top ten on the iTunes World Music charts, and their most recent release “Nine Islands” topped the charts in the New Age category, receiving exceptional critical review. Touring for more than 10 years, the Mayapuris have shared their electrifying stage show at the world’s most prestigious yoga and music venues throughout North America, Europe and Australia.

 

Bali
Bali Rico is a lyricist, multi-instrumentalist, author and academic. Born in the U.S. to Colombian parents, he and younger brother Kish spent their formative years living in ashrams in the sacred land of Mayapur, West Bengal, learning the traditions and music of ancient India. Bali’s mridanga drum playing is fiery, funky and precise, helping to create the group’s signature sound. As a hip-hop lyricist, Bali’s flow mirrors the intricate rhythm of a born percussionist, with thoughtful prose full of insight, philosophy and personal reflection. His highly anticipated hip-hop album brings together his eclectic musical influences and unique artistic talent.
Kish
Kishor is a musical adept, his various talents as a composer and artist enhanced by the depth of his practice. Kishor’s flute playing hums with spiritual resonance and a deep devotion to the path. His rhythmic style is distinct and creative, his kirtan is soulful, and he has been the prime engineer manning the helm throughout the “9 islands” recording project. Many facets of the Mayapuris have been crafted by his management and administrative acumen. Kishor is also the head of a non-profit organization meant for sharing the culture of kirtan and bhakti with youth from bhakti centers all around the world.
Vish
Visvambhar ‘Vish’ Sheth is the lead singer of the internationally acclaimed group ‘The Mayapuris’, a headlining Kirtan group that has rocked stages from India to Florida, Australia to South Africa. Starting at the age of 5, Vish has spent his life leading Kirtans in the ISKCON (Vaisnava) tradition. He is a multi-instrumentalist, and a master of the Mridanga drum and performs in traditional as well as fusion styles. Vish started performing in the modern yoga studio culture 2007, and since then he has performed at countless studio gatherings and well known spiritual venues like Bhaktifest, Omega Institute, Wanderlust, Beloved Festival, Floyd Festival, and many others. In addition to being a master percussionist, Vish also plays many instruments – harmonium, bamboo flute, guitar, sitar, and bass. Vish is an in-demand sideman as well, and has toured with Kirtan pioneer Jai Uttal and is also a performing and recording artist with the renowned world-beat ensemble, The Hanumen. Vish has not only mastered his art but has a rare capacity to invoke the ‘rasa’ or the essence of the transcendental energies that define the Kirtan path.
