The GBC Strategic Planning Team—What We Do and Why We Do It
 


We at the GBC-Strategic Planning Team have one motivation: To serve you.

We started this present service of communicating with the ISKCON world out of concern for how our devotees were dealing with the Coronavirus. We were convinced that the best approach to the virus was to “err on the side of caution” and encourage devotees to take precautions. In many places in Srila Prabhupada’s books there are descriptions of how rare and special devotees are. We didn’t want to see any of our devotees unnecessarily suffer, what to speak of leave this world. 

Regarding this rarity Prabhupada said: “You have to spend or waste gallons of blood before you can convert a person to Kṛṣṇa consciousness. It is so difficult task.” And we know, regarding devotee’s health, Prabhupada signed over 2000 of his letters, “I hope this meets you in good health”

Thus, we expanded our team to include devotees who are expert and experienced in various parts of the medical profession. They researched and analyzed articles before we posted them.  We also provided you with video interviews with accomplished and knowledgeable devotee-doctors. All in the service of keeping you, our ISKCON devotees,  as safe as is possible. 

We have been so pained by the reports of devotees getting the virus, and especially those leaving their body or having long-term debilitating effects. As the virus continues or gets worse in many parts of the world, you can expect periodic reminders from us imploring you to remain cautious as we enter the new calendar year.

As April turned to May, we realized that we could offer services beyond the cautions surrounding Covid-19. We heard, and experienced ourselves, the challenges we face dealing with the  restricted environment created by the pandemic. Thus, we began our service of regular live broadcasts aimed at serving the spiritual and practical needs of ISKCON devotees. We pray that this has been of service to you.

Now as we approach 2021, we plan to continue our services and pray that they are pleasing to you, the dear servants of Srila Prabhupada.

Prayer request for devotees

Prayers needed as some personal staff turn positive

I had some devotees, who were rendering personal service for me. They all stay together in the same room. Somehow they turned positive for the corona virus. And thus had to be retired for treatment. There was pre-occupation, that I might have got infected by them. So they tested me, but by Krsna’s mercy, I turned out to be negative. And so did the other persons serving me.

Please offer your blessings and prayers for the quick and full recovery of these devotees, who have been serving me very dedicatedly. Namely, Sri Deva Gauranga das, Taruna Gauranga das, Subhanga Govinda das, Purandara Krsna das, Patitapavana das, Iswara Vishwabhara das, Shyam Gaura Hari das, Prasanna Gauranga dasa.

His Grace Amal Nandaraj Prabhu, disciple of His Holiness Jayapataka Swami from Dubai, is admitted in ICU in ventilator due to Covid 19. Before he got affected by the virus had the desire to visit Sri Vrindavan Dham. Please pray to Their Lordships that he may recover very quickly and visit Sri Vrindavan Dham
