Hare Krsna all, During these unprecedented times of quarantine, we are really encouraged to witness the myriad of innovative ways, in which devotees are continuing to spread the mission of Srila Prabhupada. Especially, how the video conferencing app Sri Zoom is now being implemented in service of The Lord. However, as they say that noble initiatives have, since times immemorial, always faced threat of disruption by evil forces. So, too, we are witnessing a number of Zoombombing cases (hacking) across the globe. We are sure almost all of you have come across articles on alleged security lapses in ZOOM. Understandably, a lot of devotees are scared and confused regarding the same. So the GBC SPT thought it would be best to come up with a set of guidelines, that can help protect ourselves in these circumstances. Following are some key Do's and Don't s associated with zoom meetings, to be kept in mind always : 1) Never share Zoom Link or Meeting Codes on Social Media or Public domain 2) Every time create a new & unique Meeting id 3) All Meetings must compulsorily have a password assigned to it ( Passwords to be changed and kept complex, beyond the obvious, like HareKrsna@108, Prabhupada@108, Gauranga@1008 etc.) 4) Use the "Waiting Room" feature, that allows host to allow/reject a participant 5) All participants' camera should be ON always - to better identify unwanted participants 6) enable "Host Only" screen-sharing 7) Restrict annotations feature, if absolutely, not urgent 8) Disable "Allow removed participants to rejoin" 9) Always use the latest version of the Zoom app ( applies to all participants of the meeting) These basic key checkpoints should be good enough to cover you up, and help mitigate the issues that are being reported wrt ZOOM.
