As a sannyasi who is usually traveling a lot, I have had to adjust to new ideas during the lockdown period to keep myself engaged. Srila Prabhupada wanted that we become independent thinkers on how to present Krishna consciousness at different time, place, and circumstance. My realizations from the last month are that you cannot lock-down a devotee in the same way as a none-devotee may be experiencing. The term lock-down indicates restrictions, but most of those restrictions (night-clubs, restaurants, bars, etc., do not apply to a devotee's lifestyle. Therefore for me, it was just a matter of a little adjustment, and the preaching strategy fell into a new dimension. So, I came up with the following ideas, which have kept me very busy. Cooking with dasa Goswami - I have been doing a series of cooking videos to encourage my disciples and followers to prepare and offer Vedic preparations in their homes. Here are links from the demonstrations we have done during the last four weeks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awfC_w4MZNc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3zg83E250I https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=426LL3yC-QE Schedule Readings - these are readings on Skype twice a day from 10.00 to 12.00, and from 1800 to 20.00 with devotees from Russia, Ukraine, and the Baltic region. It is usually a three video call group, reading from the Bhagavad-gita, five verses each, in the language of their choice. Within the next few days, there will also be a scheduled reading with the children in these same places. Sunday Class - Using the social media Zoom, we are giving a Sunday class for the devotees in the same area. Your servant Dhirasanta dasa Goswami |
