The Bhaktivedanta Research Centre (BRC) was established a decade ago in Kolkata by HG Hari Sauri Prabhu and HG Pranava Prabhu, to fulfill Srila Prabhupada's desire for a formal educational setup offering opportunities in scholarly pursuits of Gaudiya Vaishnava traditions, in affiliation to the most renowned Universities across the globe. In pursuit of that divine desire, BRC’s vision is to be ISKCON’s central library-cum-museum, research centre and academic institute dedicated to preserving, researching and disseminating Vaishnava history, religion and culture. BRC is now a network of institutions, across Kolkata, Mumbai, Vrindavan, Pune, Ahmedabad and New York city, with affiliation to University of Mumbai and collaborations with Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies, Stockholm University, Indiana University, Yale University, Utah State University and more. Several international research projects are being pursued at the centre by scholars in collaboration with these renowned universities. The central library is carefully preserving rare Gaudiya Vaishnava manuscripts and other texts with a catalogue size running to nearly 20000 books.
